Olivia Crough

Olivia Crough is a fifth-year PhD Candidate in Visual and Environmental Studies. Drawing on art history, media- and critical theory, she works on twentieth-century Eastern European, German, and American art, specializing in print media, film, exhibition design, and photography. Her dissertation is titled, "Abstraction in Production: Varvara Stepanova and the Soviet Woman Artist from Revolution to Cold War, 1917-1957." At Harvard, Olivia has been a teaching fellow in Visual and Environmental Studies, a graduate curatorial intern at the Busch-Reisinger Museum/Harvard Art Museums, and a research fellow at the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts. In 2017-2018 she is in Berlin and Moscow on research fellowships.
