Keisha is a first-year PhD candidate in Film and Visual Studies at Harvard University who has spent the majority of her adult life in Asia and in New York City. Keisha’s explorations of race, gender, temporality, and erotics are aimed at understanding and undermining hegemonic power structures embedded in cinema. Keisha is also interested in international silent film practices; the cinemas of Asia and Africa; as well as re-versioning visual and sonic archives. Keisha is a passionate film programmer and is currently involved in developing alternative distribution networks for filmmakers of color.
Keisha holds an MA in Media Studies from Pratt Institute and a BA in Comparative Religion from Barnard College.
